The Dodge Nitro compact SUV was revealed last year and returns in 2008 with new features and options. The higher-level models come with the 260 horsepower 4.0-liter V6 that runs on the five-speed automatic transmission. Both combinations offer rear and four-wheel-drive modes.
The 2008 model measures in at 178.9 inches with a 108.8-inch wheelbase. On top of this sits a strong shaped model that screams Dodge, partly because of the distinctive crosshair grille for which Dodge is famous. The straight lines of the structure, high beltline and bold wheel flares give the Nitro a powerful presence.

The interior has multistage frontal airbags and supplemental side-curtain airbags with roll-sensing technology.
