Dodge Viper Sold?
Has it already been a year since rumors of Dodge selling off the Viper name surfaced? Well, the speculation is of course true, but for a while all those Viper fans were worried their beloved sports car from the 1990’s would fade into extinction. Chrysler’s Jim Press tells those concerned not to worry, the name will be sold to another company interested in keeping Viper alive, and it looks like some special performance enhancing auto companies want to dip into the pot.

Both Saleen and Roush Performance have talked with Chrysler/Dodge about picking up Viper and making it their own. Saleen is already somewhat involved in Viper’s production, they paint each vehicles after they roll off the assembly line. But that’s no guarantee they’ll get it, especially with Roush wanting a piece of the snake. Who will Dodge sell the car tag to? Well, with parent company Chrysler possibly making anywhere from $50 to $150 million before 2011’s final Dodge Viper sale this will come down to the highest bidder.
