2012 Dodge Durango SRT8
The way fuel prices are these days, and how some can’t even find a job, is this really the time for Dodge to promote an SRT8 model? Ralph Gilles, Chrysler SRT division president and CEO may be second guessing the SRT8 Durango, according to sources. The rear-wheel-drive, 2011 Dodge Durango R/T with 5.7-liter HEMI V8 had fewer than 2,500 buyers since March.
“We will look at decoupling some of the features in the future…we will start with…decoupling the DVD and sunroof,” Gilles explained in a web chat. This “decoupling” is code for stripping down features for costs sake. Gilles added that to make a 2013 Durango SRT8, they’ll look to the 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8 for inspiration.
