The styling changes on the all new 2011 Dodge Charger, which the motor company unveiled last week, are subtle yet impressive. Charger’s front end is more curved at the fenders, with a more aggressive grille. The read slides up somewhat, with the tail lamp design incorporating 164 illuminating LEDS.

Official interior shots haven’t been released yet, but a spy shot looks very similar to the 2011 Dodge Durango interior (see below) – and includes the updated Dodge crosshair logo. Dodge cays buyers can look forward to such touches as a new thick-rimmed three-spoke steering wheel, Uconnect Touch infotainment system and duel climate controls.

This year the R/T will come with all-wheel-drive, 19-inch wheels and a segment-exclusive active transfer case and front-axle disconnect system to improve fuel economy by up to five percent. Engine choices include the new 3.6-liter Pentastar V-6 and 5.7-liter HEMI V-8 engine with four-cylinder mode FuelSaver Technology.

Safety and security features available on the Charger include adaptive-cruise control with forward-collision warning, blind-spot monitoring with rear cross path detection and a rear back-up camera with grid lines. The Charger will be built in Brampton, Ontario, and is expected in dealerships later this year. Hopefully soon, since October is already half over. The new police package is available now for law enforcement agencies.

2008 Dodge Challenger Burnout

MyRide.com shows us a Mopar tuned ’08 Challenger in all its sleeper glory as a driver performs multiple burnouts.

1969 Dodge Pickup Burnout

Mopar not only tunes cars, they like to experiment with a pickup truck or two every now and then. This 1969 Dodge Sweptline pickup screeches in joy as its tires turn.

Mopar Dodge Charger SRT8 BFGoodrich Spot

BFGoodrich likes to grab attention with outlandish advertising, especially around Super Bowl time. Watch as Sam Hubinette (also known as Dr. Drift) comes in close contact to a wall in his Mopared Charger.

Classic Mopar Dodge Challenger Burnout

Many are excited about the 2008 and 2009 Dodge Challengers – but always remember you roots. This old school Challenger conducts a smokey burnout in Columbus, OH last year.

Mopar – 1970 Dodge Challenger Burnout

At first it looks like a clip from the classic film Vanishing Point – but it’s actually a fully restored and Mopar enhanced Challenger, complete with white paint job and screaming burning cred!

You did not misread the title – fans can now buy themselves into a street-legal NASCAR Dodge Charger for $50,000-80,000. American Race Cars (A.R.C.) of Portland, Oregon is willing to produce for you a street legal NASCAR (though not certified) Dodge Charger.

These are undoubtedly some of the safest cars on the road today, since each vehicle’s interior is lined with a roll cage and includes authentic racing seats, padded steering wheel and safety restraints.

A.R.C. has been producing the street legal racers since 2005 and, according to their website, corporate heads at various organizations implement the cars as rolling billboards for their products. Base price for a street legal Charger is $50,000, but you can get a more comfortable upgrade, including more “bells and whistles,” for up to $80,000. This product begs the question, “What happens when you have to make a right turn?”

American Race Car also produces NASCAR furniture and grills fabricated to look like race car front ends.

Since 1965 the Dodge Charger has captivated American muscle car admirers throughout the country. DodgePedia takes a look back at previous concepts and production models to see how this classic bit of Americana has evolved over the past 40 years.

1965 Dodge Charger Concept – When car design met The Space Age.

Do you really need an introduction to the 1969 Charger? General Lee props from The Dukes of Hazzard series take in half-a-mill at some auctions.

In 1971, Charger went in a rounder direction with curvier angles – reminds us of every car from any Mad Max movie. All it’s missing are leather-clad psychopaths shooting arrow-guns at Mel Gibson.

1975 – Getting closer to the fuel crisis and the death of American muscle car design. And who really wants a hood emblem on a Charger?

The 1977 Dodge Charger, still looks like something your great aunt would have driven. And who knew the phrase “raise the roof” was popular back then? Learn something new every day!

Now, this is interesting. In 1999 and 2000 Dodge introduced a 4-door Charger to the New York Auto Show. Its grill looks like the new version, while its body curves much like a Viper or mid-90′s Avenger.

The rear is closer to the original Charger design.

Another fascinating find – Looks like Dodge toyed with a 2-door Charger concept during its revival years. This would have made classic-car purists much happier.

2007 Dodge Charger – The vehicle we know today and…love? Depends on who you ask. One thing is for certain, design has come a long way.

Suffolk County police discovered the ditched 1969 Dodge Charger after it had been taken for a joy ride the previous evening in Ronkonkoma, Long Island. Suspects have yet to be rounded up. The replica was taken from Continental Car Care in Ronkonkoma – where the thief used a ladder to gain access to the auto body shop. This particular replica was actually used in the Dukes of Hazzard TV series and auctioned off for $450,000 prior to this crime.
