1965 Dodge Charger Concept – When car design met The Space Age.

Do you really need an introduction to the 1969 Charger? General Lee props from The Dukes of Hazzard series take in half-a-mill at some auctions.

In 1971, Charger went in a rounder direction with curvier angles – reminds us of every car from any Mad Max movie. All it’s missing are leather-clad psychopaths shooting arrow-guns at Mel Gibson.

1975 – Getting closer to the fuel crisis and the death of American muscle car design. And who really wants a hood emblem on a Charger?

The 1977 Dodge Charger, still looks like something your great aunt would have driven. And who knew the phrase “raise the roof” was popular back then? Learn something new every day!

Now, this is interesting. In 1999 and 2000 Dodge introduced a 4-door Charger to the New York Auto Show. Its grill looks like the new version, while its body curves much like a Viper or mid-90’s Avenger.

The rear is closer to the original Charger design.

Another fascinating find – Looks like Dodge toyed with a 2-door Charger concept during its revival years. This would have made classic-car purists much happier.
